| From earliest memory, have always had a feline person close at hand.

| Rama | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Emperor of vast lands in his last lifetime. Grew weary of the wars, the wives. Levying taxes, the concubines. Beheading rivals, the slave girls.
Decided to reincarnate as a Sealpoint Siamese cat. Then everyone would still have to wait on him hand and foot, adore him night and day, and all he'd have to do is lounge around, looking regal. |

Drew blood on numerous occasions. Excellent judge of character. Lived to be 17 years, ferociously guarding her mistress to the very end. |

| Each of these cats would have cost $150 and up from a breeder. Each, as a kitten or young cat, was rescued from the SPCA pound.
Breeders are great. Friends and neighbors even better. But, please, please, don't forget to visit your SPCA pound when you're looking for a pet. |

| Cats are carnivores and must have meat. A higher amount of fat than we humans require. I originally made the recipe below adding only olive oil to the meat and cheese, thinking polyunsat- urated is good for me--should be good for them, too. Right? Wrong! I learned that cats cannot |

process poly oils well. Nor can they convert beta carotene into Vitamin A. They've got to have meat. And they've got to have animal fat or butter for optimum feline health. I still add olive oil for glossy skin and fur. They love it! |

Ingredients: A pound of ground turkey, cooked till the juices run clear and the meat is white. About 3 cups cooked brown rice. About 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese. About 1 tsp powdered garlic (No kidding, cats love it!) 2 TB unsalted butter, melted (less, if your kitty is pudgy). 1 TB olive oil. Optional: 1/3 cup cooked sweet corn kernels. Reserve half the turkey and cut into bite-sized chunks. Toss the rest with the other ingredients in a food processor or blender and process till everything is well blended. Pour into a storage dish and mix well with the meat chunks. Chill and serve with Science Diet kibbles. Feline people are likely to sit on your kitchen counter and demand samples. |
